In March, SpendCare joined leaders from across the country in Washington, DC for the National PACE Association’s Spring Policy Forum. This annual gathering brings together policymakers, regulators, and program executives to examine the policy environment shaping PACE — and to ensure that organizations delivering this model of care have the tools and support they need to succeed.
The 2025 agenda covered issues ranging from Medicare payment changes to state-level advocacy efforts. A recurring theme throughout the forum was how to balance financial sustainability with continued innovation in participant care. As one speaker noted, “PACE has always been about doing more with less — but that requires policy partners who understand the unique value we bring.”
Another highlight came during Capitol Hill Day, where program leaders met with congressional staff to emphasize PACE’s impact on quality of life and cost savings. One participant captured the urgency well: “Every conversation we have on the Hill is about protecting access for those who would otherwise fall through the cracks.”
Takeaways for SpendCare Customers
-
Policy change is constant. Medicare and Medicaid adjustments remain a top concern for PACE operators. Our role is to help customers adapt quickly, without disruption to participant benefits.
-
Awareness is growing. State and national leaders are increasingly recognizing PACE as a cost-effective model. That momentum may open the door to expansion and new opportunities.
-
Compliance remains central. With heightened oversight on how non-medical benefits are delivered, organizations need partners who are ready for audits and can tie spending directly to care plans.
For our customers and prospective partners, participation in forums like this ensures that SpendCare is not just following policy developments, but actively engaging in them. We translate those insights into practical, compliant, and forward-looking solutions — so you can continue delivering the right support, at the right time, to the people who need it most.
